We were saddened to learn from Beata Kos-Kudla, President of the Polish Society of Endocrinology, of the sudden passing of Professor Andrzej Lewiński. As Beata says:
"This is an immense loss for our society, as we mourn the departure of not only an outstanding scientist but also a cherished colleague and friend.
"Professor Lewiński was a pillar of Polish and European endocrinology, a mentor to countless doctors, and a respected authority who generously shared his knowledge and experience.
"His distinguished career included serving as the President of the Polish Society of Endocrinology, and he was also an esteemed member of the Executive Board of the European Federation of Endocrine Societies (EFES). His dedication, leadership, and scientific achievements have advanced our field in profound ways.
"This is a moment of great sorrow for our community, and we will deeply miss his wisdom, vision, and collegiality."
We share the sadness of the Polish Endocrine Society at the sudden passing of Dr. Andrzej Lewiński – a distinguished and generous endocrinologist who will be greatly missed.
