World Hypopara Day
World Hypopara Day, every year on the 1st of June, is a day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding of hypoparathyroidism, its treatment, and its impact on individuals and their families. This annual observance brings together patients, healthcare professionals, and researchers from around the world to unite in a shared mission of education, support, and advocacy.
Hypopara is a rare disease that is characterised by insufficient levels of parathyroid hormone, resulting in hypocalcemia, hyperphosphatemia and hypercalciuria.
World Hypopara Day was initiated by Parathyroid UK, one of ESE's Patient Advocacy Groups.
