Endocrine cancers are on the rise and are increasingly common in Europe and around the world. Thyroid cancer is responsible for almost 90,000 new cases per year in Europe alone. ESE, in coordination with its affiliated Patient Advocacy Groups and other partners, is using World Cancer Day to actively raise awareness around endocrine cancers. The aim is to also bring these type of cancers to the attention of European and national policy makers and the general public. We call on our community to join us in this effort.
World Cancer Day is an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), the largest and oldest international cancer organisation. The new World Cancer Day campaign 2025-27 “United by Unique” places people at the centre of care and will explore new ways of making a difference. It offers a three- year journey from raising awareness to taking action.
