If you cause damage to third parties and property you will be liable for this. Please take out valid, comprehensive third-party liability insurance.

ESE will not cover or be responsible or liable for any costs that may be incurred by any attendees to ECE 2024 or insurance costs.

The European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) and Bioscientifica Ltd cannot accept liability for injuries or losses of whatever nature incurred by delegates, nor for loss of or damage to luggage and/or personal belongings. Please check the validity of your own travel insurance. All reasonable endeavours will be made to hold the ECE 2024 and to present its programme as scheduled under circumstances which assure the comfort and safety of all participants. However, neither ESE nor its committees, representatives or agents, shall be held liable for any injury, damage or inconvenience which may be suffered by any person while travelling to or from, or during such person's presence in Stockholm in connection with the Congress. Participants are fully liable for damages caused to third parties and property. All delegates shall have a valid, fully comprehensive third party liability insurance.

EU citizens must either present a passport or an ID card valid for the duration of the stay in order to enter Sweden for tourist visits of up to three months. Citizens of other countries must have valid passports. Some non-EU citizens are required to produce a visa. Please contact your travel agent or the nearest Swedish diplomatic post for further information. Further information on what documents are required to enter Sweden can be found here.

There is a strict NO PHOTOGRAPHY policy at ECE 2024. Delegates may be asked to leave if this is not adhered to.

An official Congress photographer will be on site throughout ECE 2024. Please do not take photographs of slides, posters or other people during the sessions or in the exhibition without their permission.

  • All media, journalists etc. attending ECE 2024 must gain approval from a speaker/poster presenter prior to quoting or publishing that individual’s scientific results on the internet or through other forms of media. This policy applies to both professional writers/journalists and to non-journalists blogging about the congress or otherwise sharing information amongst a group of individuals.
  • Please do not take photographs of any session/poster without prior consent from the congress organisers and the speaker/presenter.
  • Congress attendees must not take photos of any exhibition stand, or part of a stand, without the express permission of the exhibiting company.

Fully accredited members of the Press are invited to attend ECE 2024. For more information please contact our Media Office.

The European Society of Endocrinology welcomes the use of social media. To ensure that the needs of all parties are met, we ask that delegates using social media comply with the following policy.

  • We ask that all writers attending ECE 2024 gain approval from a speaker/poster presenter prior to quoting or publishing that individual’s scientific results on the internet or through other forms of media. This policy applies to both professional writers/journalists and to non-journalists blogging about the congress or otherwise sharing information amongst a group of individuals.
  • Please refrain from taking photos of any session/poster without prior consent from the congress organisers.
  • All delegates are respectfully asked to refrain from communicating using mobile devices whilst lectures are in progress.
  • Delegates must not take photos of any exhibition stand, or part of a stand, or share these via social media, without the express permission of the exhibiting company.

You can follow ESE on X/TwitterLinkedIn and Facebook.

We are not able to accept registrations for any accompanying people (including spouses and children) at ECE 2024. This is due to health and safety considerations and our adherence to the Pharmaceutical Code of Practice around the promotion of products to non-Health Care Professionals.

For registered delegates who are parents with small infants and babes in arms, there will be a nursing room available close to the main registration area. Please ask the staff at the Registration Desk to show you where this is. There are no childcare facilities onsite at the Congress, therefore childcare should be arranged separately in Stockholm. To comply with insurance and safety requirements, infants must always be held or be in a pushchair. Entry to the nursing room is subject to all regular ECE 2024 Congress entry regulations.

Babies are permitted to enter the Congress venue with their parent/carer to travel to and from the nursing room only. Please note that children and spouses are not permitted in any ECE 2024 session halls, exhibition areas or adjoining spaces.

We thank you for your understanding.

General Information

A Certificate of Attendance will be available for all delegates attending the ECE 2024 Congress.

ECE 2024 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 16.5 European CME credits (ECMEC®s).

Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Please note that in order to receive CME accreditation you will need to be scanned into each session. There will be hostesses at each session who will scan your badge to register your attendance.

Following the Congress all attendees will be sent an evaluation form by email to complete. This will also be made available via the ECE 2024 Congress platform. All feedback will make a considerable difference and help us to improve future congresses. Following completion of the evaluation form a CME certificate will be emailed within 14 working days of the survey closing date.

Please send any questions about CME certificates to ece2024@endocrinology.org

For the ECE@Home content, CME points will only be awarded if:

  • You have completed an evaluation for each session you attended (this is only triggered once at least 20 minutes has been viewed)
  • The post-event survey is completed.

One CME point will be awarded per hour viewed. Your CME points will be calculated based on your total live viewing time over the four live Congress days, providing the above criteria has been met.

CME accreditation will also be available for ESE On Demand content.

Euro and Swedish SEK  are the currencies that are officially recognised as legal tender in Stockholm. ECE 2024 only accepts Euros .

ECE 2024 includes a commercial exhibition. Only registered delegates are allowed in the exhibition area.

The exhibition is an integral part of the Congress and can be directly accessed from a number of session rooms. All catering will be served within the exhibition hall, which also contains the posters and ECE Hubs. Be sure to visit the many companies participating at the Congress, as well as the Patient Experience Zone, European Hormone Day booth and the ESE booth.

All Congress rules are applicable within the exhibition hall and on booths. Exhibiting companies are responsible for their exhibition space and therefore responsible for safety and cleanliness, while the general spaces will be overseen by members of the Congress team.

A First Aid room will be available at the venue. Please come to registration or the ESE stand if you or someone you are with needs assistance.

Hot and cold drinks and lunches are included in the registration fee for a full Congress in-person ticket and will be served daily in the exhibition area. The catering areas will be staffed to serve food and drink during breaks and lunch. This will be a small lunch consisting of a sandwich, fruit and sweet snack. Water is available throughout the Congress venue, and we encourage you to bring your reusable bottle. There is a small newsagents/shop onsite if you wish to purchase additional food.

Tap water is safe to drink in Sweden, including in the hotels.

The official language of ECE 2024 is English.

There will be a dedicated Room of Silence at ECE 2024.

At ESE we recognise the growing impact our activities and events have on the environment, therefore the printed programme book you will receive in Stockholm will be a lot smaller than previous years. We encourage you to view the abstract list electronically and make full use of the congress platform, where you will also find the Congress e-Bag containing the Meet the Expert Handbook and many other useful resources to support your Congress experience.

You can read about ESE’s Green Commitment here.

We are looking forward to you joining us for ECE 2024, which will be taking place in the wonderful city of Stockholm! We would like to help you make the most of your visit and travel around the city with confidence, so we have created this guide to ensure you have a safe and smooth journey before, during and after the Congress.

Getting to ECE 2024

ECE 2024 Congress Centre

Stockholmsmässan Mässvägen 1, 125 30 Älvsjö, Sweden.

From Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Stockholm City Centre:

We encourage all attendees to travel by public transport where possible. Stockholm Central station is only 10 minutes on the train to the city centre.

The Headquarters Hotel (HQ) is adjoining the Stockholmsmassan Congress Centre.

Arlanda Express Train:

The quickest way to reach Stockholm City Centre from Arlanda Airport is by taking the Arlanda Express train. The train departs directly from the airport every 5-10 minutes and takes approximately 18 minutes to reach Stockholm City Centre. Tickets can be conveniently purchased online or at the information desk in the arrivals hall, or from the designated ticket machines.

Airport Buses:

Another option is to take an airport bus, such as the Flygbussarna or FlixBus, which connects the airport to various locations in the city. The travel time by bus varies depending on traffic but typically takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Taxi:

Taxis are readily available at the airport, and you can either order one through a ride-sharing app like Uber or pick one up at the taxi rank located directly outside the arrivals area.

From Stockholm City Centre to Stockholmsmässan:

Commuter Train (Stockholms Pendeltåg):

To travel from Stockholm City Centre to Stockholmsmässan, you can take the Stockholms Pendeltåg (Stockholm Commuter Train). The closest train station is Älvsjö station which sits directly outside the congress centre. The journey typically takes around 10 to 15 minutes.

Taxi from Stockholm City Centre:

To ensure you get the best rates, we recommend ordering a taxi through the Uber service on your phone or simply finding one at the taxi rank located directly outside the station. This way, you can easily and comfortably reach Stockholmsmässan without overpaying for your journey.

Data Privacy & Terms

At ECE 2024 ensuring the privacy and security of your personal data is paramount. In line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we want to inform you about the badge scanning processes we have in place during the event. There are two primary purposes for badge scanning:

CME Certification Collection

To facilitate the issuance of Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits and certificates, we will scan your badge at the entrance of certified sessions. This process is essential for tracking attendance and ensuring you receive credit for participating in educational activities. Your data will be used solely for the purpose of verifying attendance and issuing certificates. Please note that CME points are not offered at industry sponsored sessions.

Commercial Exhibition/Industry Sponsored Session Attendance

Exhibitors within the commercial exhibition hall and sponsors of satellite symposia, Mini-satellites and ECE Hub sessions may request to scan your badge. In this case, by agreeing to have your badge scanned, you are agreeing to share your name, email address and country information directly with the sponsor/exhibitor. This information can be used by the sponsor/exhibitor to send further details or follow-up information after the Congress. Please note that scanning by company representatives or agencies is optional and subject to your consent.

For CME Certification Collection, scanning is mandatory to receive certification. By attending these sessions, you agree to have your badge scanned for this purpose.

For industry sessions and commercial exhibition, badge scanning is entirely voluntary. You will be asked for your consent before your badge is scanned, ensuring you have control over the sharing of your contact information.

All data collected through badge scanning is processed in accordance with GDPR guidelines. We take your privacy seriously and implement stringent measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration.

We are committed to ensuring a seamless and secure experience for all attendees. If you have any questions or need further clarification on our badge scanning processes, please visit the ECE 2024 event team at the organisers office or email to ece2024@endocrinology.org
