Experience at Europit 2024 and Dieter K. Lüdecke Prize winner

Bára Dis Benediktsdottir (Iceland)

I had an incredible experience attending Europit 2024 in Annecy, France, last month. The welcoming atmosphere and inspiring surroundings at Les Pensières made it a unique and enriching experience. The course brought together a fantastic group of dedicated doctors and researchers with a shared passion for pituitary disorders and high-quality patient care. As the only endocrinology fellow at my clinic at Landspitali University Hospital in Reykjavik, Iceland, it was especially valuable for me to meet other young endocrinology fellows at the event. I was able to exchange ideas, discuss challenges in our practices, compare similarities and differences, and learn from the expertise of the faculty and my fellow participants.

I was both humbled and honoured to receive the Dieter K. Lüdecke Prize for the best case presentation. This recognition is very encouraging, not only for me but also my colleagues at Landspitali University Hospital. Europit truly highlights how important a strong multidisciplinary team is when taking care of patients with pituitary disorder.

Returning to my clinic, I feel grateful for the opportunity to attend such a high-quality meeting and look forward to applying the knowledge I gained to further improve patient care. The organisers and faculty members deserve praise for putting together a great event, and I would highly recommend applying to Europit to anyone passionate about pituitary disorders.
