ESE Focus Area on Calcium and Bone

With studies on the underlying pathogenic mechanisms of classical bone diseases, such as osteoporosis, advancing rapidly, it has also become clear in recent years that the role of bone tissue goes far beyond the obvious functions of the skeleton. It is now evident that calcified tissue behaves as an endocrine organ that interacts with many other body systems.

Endocrine Connections is an open-access journal offering authors the highest possible visibility for their work and stimulating cross-discipline collaboration. The journal publishes basic, translational and clinical research and reviews in all areas of endocrinology, endocrine-related and intersecting disciplines and the wider biomedical community.

Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism case reports publishing original case reports on common and rare conditions in all areas of clinical endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. Contains 65 examples relating to parathyroid disorders with clear learning points to inform medical education or clinical practice.

European Congress of Endocrinology - Europe’s premier congress for endocrinologists is an increasingly popular venue to present parathyroid disorder clinical research and best practice to over 4,000 delegates wishing to share the best knowledge in endocrine science and medicine.

ESE On Demand provides access to content from the congress online for members and delegates to revisit as required.

The European Society of Endocrinology worked with hypoparathyroidism patient support groups on the 2015 clinical guidelines on the treatment of chronic hypoparathyroidism in adults and have produced a patient information leaflet aimed at providing information on the condition as well as what to expect during clinical diagnosis and management.
