We recognise the growing impact our activities and events have on the environment and our responsibility to limit not only our own emissions but to work closely with venues and other suppliers to manage the overall environmental impact.
We understand the importance of our community meeting face to face but will make a conscious effort to reduce unnecessary activity impacting the environment on areas that we are able to make a difference. We will publish and communicate to our members achievable methods of lowering our environmental impact, with the aim of engaging all our members within the ESE community.
We are committed to lowering the negative impact on the natural world, and endeavour to contribute by:
- Actively measuring travel and monitoring significant environmental impacts of ECE (our largest event)
- Providing a hybrid or fully virtual event or meeting where possible
- Considering ‘digital only’ materials across all activities (including events, publications, marketing materials) reducing waste and managing disposal responsibly throughout all activities
- Reducing supply chain footprint of our partners and suppliers (by using local suppliers where appropriate)
We are in the process of reviewing our environmental impact and a wider environmental policy will be published in due course.
